Good Afternoon,

EPA has scheduled a public meeting on airborne PCBs and PCB air sampling at the GE-Pittsfield/Housatonic River Superfund Site for Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 6:30 – 8:30 PM in the auditorium at the Lee Middle and High School (300 Greylock Street, Lee, MA 01238).

EPA’s presentation will include a discussion of air sampling results from cleanups conducted over the past 20 years, proposed monitoring for the Rest of River cleanup, methods for reducing airborne PCBs, and health-based protective notification and action levels.  There will be a question-and-answer session following the presentation.

Our team has previously released a Fact Sheet titled Rest of River Cleanup and the Upland Disposal Facility Will Not Pose a Health Threat from Airborne PCBs (https://semspub.epa.gov/src/document/01/678381) to provide information to the public regarding this topic.  Information in this fact sheet will be discussed in the meeting.

Sincerely,
